Daddy's Pictures

It's 3:25 a.m. on the morning we are to leave for D.C., so OF COURSE I'm still awake and still have a few small things to take care of....  It only makes sense that I would be blogging right now.  In my universe, anyway, it makes sense.  In case you've started following this blog and are wondering what the point of it all is, well, this is mainly a record of our first family mission trip. Phil has been doing this for years, but this is the first time that the kids and I will have an opportunity to serve with him. Many of the photos and thoughts that I (we) post may be of no interest or significance to most people, but this blog will be meaningful to our family as we look back at all God has done.

So, here are some of those pictures that Daddy took at the cookout on June 23.
Since I am severely lacking in the sibling department, my home girls showed up to help me represent. (Word.)  (Yo.)  (Whatever.  I'm no gangsta gangster.)

(Did I mention it's almost 4 a.m. and I've had no sleep?)
They've harrassed me for years.  They think it's funny to stoop to my level to make me feel better about my shortness.  (They are pretty funny.)
Phil has been harrassing me for years.
(just so you know he was there, too)

Baptism and Blessing

At church today, we had a very sweet and special service.  Our pastor had us come forward to tell the congregation about SpeakOut, and then he had one of the elders come forward to pray for us.  At the end of service, BOTH of our children were baptized.  Drew made a profession of faith several years ago but was never baptized.  A few weeks ago, Aubrey trusted Jesus to be her savior.  What a great way to spend our last Sunday in America! (Yes, we're coming back...)

June 23, 2012

Thanks to our sweet friends the Quintons, we were able to spend a few hours visiting with a few friends and (most of our) immediate family members. The Quintons hosted a cookout at our church on June 23.  My dad took some pictures that I want to post as soon as I can borrow his memory card.  For now, here are a few from my camera.
The Davis Clan (minus 2 adults & 2 children)
Phil & his first niece
Me & some crazy woman who showed up
(I love her)
One is from our tribe, and we'll gladly claim the other one.
Nice photo gone crazy, thanks to the creeper in the back and my daughter's lovely facial expression.
Drew with our sweet nephew who still calls Phil "Daddy-Bubba"
Phil with one of his other brothers
Our sweet friends and the hosts of our "get-together"
(also, another of Phil's other brothers)
